Douglas Hyde, born in Southern California's historic city of Pasadena, started his career in photography at the early age of sixteen. He pursued this passion throughout his life, combining creativity and spontaneity while reflecting the discriminating and innovative solutions in his "Vision of Light".

Douglas attended Art Center, College of Design, which is recognized as one of the world's foremost institutions for art and design education. This time provided the foundation for his professional career and greatly influenced his unmistakably "focused" style. In 1977, he decided to work as a free-lance photographer and soon his assignments took him into a new and exciting territory, the graphic art industry. The idea of combining "Image & Paper in Print" brought insight to visualizing the final product, printed material in any shape or format. Soon after, his involvement turned back to photography, when he took the position as Senior Photographer and Fashion Studio Manager of a Los Angeles based department store. Managing the $4.3 million budget, directing a full time staff of seven employees & 12 free-lance photographers, stylists, and assistants became part of his daily routine, providing him with the in-valuable experience of guiding a project through it's creation from beginning to end.

During the past 9 years Douglas has owned and operated his own studio. Located in an artist colony in Los Angeles, the studio has been involved with large projects for Disney Parks and Resorts, Smith & Noble catalog and clients of the likes. Douglas' focus lies in the delivery of a perfect product. The familiarity with all aspects of the industry, his background & skill, and the sophistication & savoir fair in handling concept & production of any project. The Client knows they are in firm hands, on time, under budget, and creatively what you had in mind.

He has traveled to countries throughout Central America, in Asia, Africa and Europe. Come and enjoy the "Vision of Light”. The Book is divided into three areas. First are Product & Interiors followed by Fashion & People, then the final section are the images of his Travel work. His greatest joy is the fact he raised a son & daughter. and we hope you enjoy the show.
